Empowering Women on Economy – Street Food Vendors at Kampong Thom Province

Through a close cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, we have organized a training course called “Implementing Safety, Hygiene, Food and Hospitality” for street food vendors in Kampong Thom province, which took place on the morning of August 28, 2020 at Kampong Thom Provincial Hall, was presided over by H.E Pak Sokhom, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, highly representative of H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and H.E Sok Loo, Governor of Kampong Thom Province.

The training was designed not only to raise awareness of food safety, hygiene and services during this difficult time caused by the Covid-19, but also to focus on developing the capacity of women entrepreneurs as well as commitment to boost tourism sector in Cambodia where the economy is being affected by Covid-19. This training is divided into two main sessions: the first session focuses on theory and the second session is observation and practice. More than 100 participants participated in this training.
